Got your head stuck in a cloud?
Good evening and Happy Wednesday!!
How’ve you been?
The week is running so fast, and I’m grateful, in anticipation of a restful weekend.
What have you been up to?
Wednesday, the 11th of August 2021.
It’s not uncommon to crave the good life. Even godly people want to believe that since they’re living righteous lives, they must soar on eagle’s wings for the rest of their lives. We hit rock bottom when we face trials allowed by God to build us up.
Why didn’t I get chosen for the job?Why did my righteous parent die?
Why did I end up in a bad marriage?
Why another failed business?
Even more, why am I sick?
And for many who’re deceived into thinking that godliness is a means to financial gain, why am I poor?
A teacher once said to a large congregation of which I was part of, “the moment you decide to follow Jesus squarely, every force turns against you”. Psalm 91 talks about the arrows that fly at noonday. Relatable?
Godliness propels you to surrender. The limelight completely shifts from you and focuses on Christ. Godliness shows you your weakness, so you can lean on Jesus. Our Lord loves it when we trust Him. He wants us to lose our lives completely for His sake. He promises to give it back to us wholly on that day—that joyous day when He calls us home.
With sweet melodies of praise, the 24 elders hail His holy name. The billows of cloud and rattlings of thunder announce His presence. The splendor of His garment radiates holiness. The angels usher you in, with the crown of glory in Jesus’ hand. You behold the glory of His father and the consciousness of your filthy soul hits you. “I’m not worthy to behold your glory Lord”. His reply is rather simple—“the spirit of the righteous shall be made perfect”.
So let’s not grow weary, having our heads stuck in the clouds, expecting everything in life to be magical. Trials? they’ll come. What’s our hope? That Christ sees it all and walks with us through it. If He walked this earth and suffered much more than we can imagine just to free us, then we can be sure to trust Him in our storms— even when He seems quiet.
If Christ wanted us to have it all sweet, our faith will never be stretched to attain full maturity, and we’ll have to take milk for the rest of our lives. Strong meat is for you and me. Strong meat is ushered by tumultuous, faith-testing (sometimes shattering) situations.
I get scared even when I think of them, but He who began the good work in us will finish it. Remember when Moses was distraught in Exodus 33, so He asked God what’ll make Israel stand out from all the other nations of the world. God’s reply is a promise for us today— “my presence will go with you” (Exodus 33:14-16).
Watch out for the wave and stand firm.
Goodbyes
Don’t let anyone deceive you, life’s sweeter in Christ.

Till next time,
Wednesday, God-willing.
