Hello friends! As is our ritual, I’d ask you how August went and you’ll skip it as a mere pleasantry and jump into the day’s discourse without reflecting on August.
Today, I’d love you to intentionally reflect on the month of August.
What were your major breaking points?
What were your greatest joys?
Did you ever need God’s deliverance and took to disappointment when you didn’t feel His saving hands around you?
Did you ever need some comfort from people only to be put off by cold responses?
Are you happy with where you’re at?
Are you excited with all that God is doing even if it’s not clear yet?
Thanksgiving is so easy when we’ve gotten our prayers answered. How do we react to disappointments and sadness?
Is there a right attitude to it?
Daniel 3:17-18 models the attitude to every given situation.
If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand (v.17)
But EVEN IF HE DOES NOT, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up (v.18)
Daniel’s reply opens up an otherworldly definition of trust, and it shows us the way to God’s heart—hopeless trust in Him. Contrary to popular opinion, Daniel didn’t have a Plan B. It was either God’s saving power or death. So even when we’re not sure if God wants to get us out of a situation, we remain strongly convinced of His ability to.
Our ability to trust God completely stirs Him to intervene in our situations.
And just like Brian Nhira sang, would you love God when it’s hard, and it seems like your world’s falling apart?
Would you love Him when He’s pruning you to conform to the image of His son?
Would you love Him when He’s teaching you the hard lessons of humility and simplicity?
Amongst everything God is teaching us this season, He’s teaching us to love Him blindly—in seasons of magnificent blessings and the lack thereof.
He’s teaching us to say HALLELUJAH even when the storm hits hard.
As much as I want to assure you of a seamless life, Jesus reminds us that we’ll always meet troubles in different shapes and forms. The fact that He has overcome the world remains our only assurance (John 16:33)
May September and the rest of the year be glazed with God’s tender mercy.
May your rough days usher you into songs of deliverance.
May your soul sing sweet melodies of triumph, in season and out of season, Amen.
Goodbyes
It is your job to humble yourself, and it’s God’s job to promote you. If you insist on doing God’s job, He will do yours.

Till next time,
Wednesday, God-willing.
Yet again!!! You're serving me raw truth. Giving thanks in all situation. That's not something I've learnt to do. I'm still in the learning process as I find myself complaining, grumbling or even "scolding" God when things don't go my way.
Imagine trying to make God who's thoughts and ways are higher than mine adjust to my ways. Silly right? But for long, without realizing, I've been making that a criteria for being thankful to God.
May God help me to give thanks in all circumstances and trust that whatever He does is the best.
By the way, I haven't really reflected about how August went generally. But I'm sure I felt overwhelmed so much during the last month.
But I'm currently excited as to what God is doing in my life. I just can't hold back the Joy I feel currently. And how it fills me up with peace and an assurance that everything works out for the good of those who place their trust in the Lord.
I seem to have a lot to write. It's been long since I graced the comment section withy God-given writings 🤭
