Good evening friends! You’re seeing this newsletter late because of a poor network reception. I apologize.
How have you really been?
Wednesday, the 8th of September, 2021.
Every time I try to write something different, I feel strongly propelled back to what I’ve been called for—exhortation, healing the broken-hearted, giving hope to the hopeless and strengthening the vulnerable.
I wanted to write something different today on a pattern I’ve taken note of, but here I am again, back to my roots. Today, I listened closely to an introduction by Don Moen in his song, Magnified and it struck me as something worth sharing, and that’s where I coined the topic from. Immutability simply means unchanging; not capable of or not susceptible to change.
Don Moen mentioned this in his song:
Dark times and storms don’t diminish the reality of God’s presence.
Did you know this, or did you forget?
Did you know that His perfectness is a constant?
His glory doesn’t fade even a little, and His presence? Ever enthralling.
Don Moen sang this version of Magnified in the heat of the Corona Virus in 2020.
He went on,
God is bigger than Corona Virus
God is bigger than your finances
God is bigger than your challenges
God is bigger than any disease in your body
And we choose to put our faith in Him today.
Have you been relegating God to play second fiddle, when indeed, He’s supposed to be the rudder steering the ship of your life?
Ask for mercy for all those days you’ve made Him too small in your eyes;
Mercy for those days you’ve leaned on the wisdom of men rather than the sure rock of His Word;
Mercy for those days you’ve relied on your abilities, rather than His grace;
Mercy for those days you’ve projected your weaknesses as an excuse for your failures;
Mercy for the times you’ve chosen the fleeting pleasures of sin, rather than the inebriating wonder of His presence.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
- Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
P.S: You can read this verse of Scripture in other versions and let the weight of the verse sink deep in your heart and cause light to burst forth from within.
On a lighter note, we could comfortably tag this newsletter a sequel to that of last week. I think it makes for a perfect blend.
What have you been working on this week?
Trust Him, work at it, and He’ll crown your efforts with fruitfulness.
Goodbyes
No quotes, just a simple goodbye and a thrill of hope to write you again.
Till next time,
Wednesday, God-willing.
Nice piece Koko.
*i have made you too small in my eyes*, this always gets me when i listen to that song.
(Magnified by Don Moen)
